Crochet Christmas Light Garland
I recently had the opportunity to take over the West Elm Dallas Instagram account. They challenged me to add a touch of festive crochet to their products for an entire week. Take a look at their account to see the rest of the photos I styled. When they gave me the paper mâché moose head I was a little intimated...should I crochet antler covers or something?? Haha. Instead I went with a colorful strand of Christmas lights! I love how it looks against the white. It is such a quick pattern! You will have a pile of light bulbs ready for hanging in no time! I used worsted weight yarn and a size H8 crochet hook.
Christmas Light Garland
With the light bulb color, ch 2.
Round 1: Starting in the second ch from the hook, 4 sc. Do not join.
Round 2: 2 sc in each sc around. 8 sc.
Round 3: Sc in each sc around. 8 sc.
Round 4: *Sc in the next sc, 2 sc in the next sc repeat from * around.
Round 5-6: Sc in each sc around.
Round 7: *Sc in the next sc, 2 sc in the next sc repeat from * around.
Round 8-9: *Sc in the next sc, sc2tog, repeat from * around.
Stuff the light bulb firmly with fiber fill stuffing.
Round 10: Change to the black yarn. Sc in each sc around.
Round 11: Sc in each sc around.
Round 12: Sc2tog all the way around and join with a sl st. Bind off.
Make as many of these Christmas lights as you like in a variety of colors to match your home. String them all together on a black piece of yarn and deck the halls!
