I recently found this Pentax K1000 for a great deal on eBay. I've been searching for a beginner 35mm film camera for awhile now so I could fuel my love of photography without spending quite as much on film and developing. The camera came with a basic strap so I decided to dress it up with crochet. Yesterday afternoon I started some blue and red scallop stripes to cover the top section of the strap using this stitch pattern
. I still have a little bit to finish but I really like the look so far. The color combination is one of my favorites!
I was really surprised at how many photos came out on my first roll of film because I'm so used to the sketchy results from my Diana
. I like that I have a little more control over these images. I even tried a double exposure of my cat. Creepy twin cats...
I'm still learning the ins and outs of this camera. I accidentally opened the back too soon while unloading my second roll of film resulting in exposed pictures and light leaks. However, I really like this last picture of the lake. The pink makes it look like a dreamy sunset in the middle of a hot summer day. That unexpected beauty is what I love most about film.
I hope you have a great day!
