Knitting by Design - Rainy Day Vest

This post has been a long time coming! My friend Emma Robertson recently published a beautiful book of knitting projects called Knitting by Design.

When I say beautiful, I mean b-e-a-utiful. Seriously.

The images are stunning and her talented styling skills shine through each page. Most importantly the projects are too cool for school. Aside from the fact that the last few months have been quite the whirlwind of emotions, it was such a struggle picking out one pattern and getting started! I know I will eventually tackle as many patterns inside this book as possible, but I finally decided to finally cast on the Rainy Day Vest. I love seeing the lovely Jen modeling several of the patterns in the book, too!

I am still in the beginning stages of the vest but I can’t get enough of the Madeline Tosh Vintage yarn I picked out for this project. It is the prettiest emerald green color! I can’t wait to wear this beautiful vest with dresses and jeans in the fall and winter. Now I just need to actually finish the vest! I’ve just got to believe. Haha. I will defeat this UFO if it is the last thing I do. Knitting on this project a little bit every day is definitely therapeutic right now.

I am so proud of you, Emma. It was such an honor to receive a copy of your book. I still need you to sign it! You rock.

Have you had a chance to check out Emma’s book or knit any of the projects? What other projects are you working on these days?
